DTN COMMENTS:  A light trade is developing in parts of the South at $201, 
fully steady with last week's weighted averages. The North remains very 
quiet with bids and asking prices not established as of yet. 

Today's slaughter totaled 124,000 head, 1,000 less than both a week and 
year ago. Cattle futures closed mixed, mostly lower on both live (up 30 
to off 15) and feeder (up 90 to off 220) contracts. Beef cutouts are 
expected to close mixed, with moderate to good box movement.
